  Dear Alan F:

  My perspective regarding this issue is that I know the man he is my friend
  and we speak on almost a weekly basis. He is a man of honor and reputation
  and I only wish that I were half the man that he is.
  
  After reading both threads and considering both sides of the “argument” it maybe
  true that your intent was not to make “light” of A.K. Jeff’s thread or that you were
  trying to show him your perspective on the matter.
  
  However, he and other individuals on the board perceived the outcome of the
  thread as a negative.

  As I formerly mentioned, even though you were showing him your perspective
  on the matter he was hurt by the method chosen—that is the issue.

  I think it is fair to state an apology is in order.

  as a jehovahs witness, many individuals became touchy when questions directed .

  Dear Terry:

  I think James (The Amazing) Randi as he is
  referred to has been a major role player
  in debunking hoaxes throughout the years.

  He has been effective, in exposing faith
  healers spoon bending psychics and so
  forth.

  His favorite and main targets being Uri
  Geller and televangelist Peter Popoff.

  However, I draw the line when it comes
  to William Roll because I bear in mind
  "The Amazing" Randi is a magician and
  not a leading scientist regarding para-
  normal psychology.

  I also bear in mind this quote:

  "As a magician, I know two things—how to deceive
  people and how people deceive themselves"—Poltergeists

  through conversations with other exjw's i am finding a discrepancy.. in some cases when a person disassociates him or her self from the org, the family views it as not being as bad as if they had been disfellowshipped.. in other cases it is the complete opposite.. what's the deal??

  This was the official position taken by the Watchtower
  Society back in the 80's. However, I do not know if
  there have been modifications since that time.
  
  Persons who make themselves 'not of our sort' by deliberately rejecting the faith and beliefs of Jehovah's Witnesses should appropriately be viewed and treated as are those who have been disfellowshiped for wrongdoing. --The Watchtower, September 15, 1981, page 23.
  
  However, I do know that when I disfellowshiped
  the Watchtower Society for conduct unbecoming
  a Christian organization, I was shunned and
  still am shunned by Jehovah's Witnesses.

  When I disfellowshiped the Watchtower Society I
  let my closest friends know about it through a
  letter because at the time I felt it was just
  too hard face to face.
  
  I would suggest to "leave the door open"
  in case one day they decide to leave
  the organization.

  your aversion to the questions that
  is why I repeated them to make sure

  Nothing personal, I see your discom-

  ask as many questions and then become

  the organization if he or she claimed that
  they never once second guessed themselves
  prior to or even after words I would find
  that hard to believe.
  
  In particular with the thread titled:

  Granted, it may happen, however, I would
  say that is more the exception than the
